My host, who has in the past been quite reliable, has been down for the last four days. I tell you, you just can't get good service without paying a bunch of money.
It's free because I'm friends with the owner, but it's been down for three days without a reason. I found out just awhile ago that it should be up no later than Friday. So I guess I could get my site done and have it up with the host, but that's not likely to happen. I'm lazy.
Downtimes and hosting problems are common, they can happen at any time to any service. No matter how good the hosting company is. As a matter of fact, just recently GfxDiary had a run of small downtimes because the host was reconfiguring their networks and increasing security. Before that they never had any major downtimes since we joined them. That doesnt make them bad, its just expected from every webhost. ;)
dude, im not denying its not down, i know how much downtime cos i spend more time here than any of you. If im not posting on the site then im more likely working on the backend with Thomas. I know how annoying it is when a site goes down, you just have to read the convos with Thomas when the host goes down ;)
Its always good to have a dedicated server (which is what we're aiming of getting). That way you wont be tied down with host related problems only if the datacenter has connection problems which is HIGHLY UNLIKLY!

LOL GfxDiary is down like 3 times a day!
Yeah, but in the long run it'll speed up the site when all the changes are implemented. Lets hope so anyway ;)
Yea right, when it happens? When horses learn to sing.
That was quick! :D
