Lord of the Rings - The Epic

So, what did you guys think of Lord of the Rings? I've seen all of them and to be honest i must say its miles better than The MATRIX in terms of movie going experience. However, the two films are very different in concept so i wont start a war and compare the two

I didnt like the ending of LOTR: The Return of the King, i thought Frowdo (spellings?!) should have died in the end, it woulda boosted the film's ratigns even more as well as the realism levels (if you really believe fairies, elfs, ghosts, and oversized elephants are real  )

Still, it was the best 10.40 hours i spent of my life, and to tell the truth, i think The GodFather should now respectfully step down from the best ever film and make room for this one!

Overall: 4.8/5

ooo, don't get me started on this boring movie[s]....

8/10 for gfx
0/10 for the movie!!!!

Damn dont you think thats being a bit too harsh? I felt the same wheni first saw it, it looked like a kid's fairytale, but i got hooked after the first 30 mins!

I've still not seen any film that improved as the sequels got released. Oh hold on, maybe Rocky fits that description 8)

make it -1/10 for the movie!!!! :)

Yea i absolutely agree with nox, cause i read the books and it is much better to read a book, while all those movies in HOLLYWood are done using fucking great graphics, while they cut the scripts how they want.
The most respectful producer(did spell right?) is Tarantino to me. HIs movies make me thrill, so i am looking forward to watching KIll Bill.

i dunno the 1st movie was like  wow, then the seconde was i find almost the 1st one copyed lol, and then the 3rd one was like ah just die frodo so we can get this over with. I think frodo is the most idiotic person/hobbit in the whole story especialy in the 3rd movie! i wanted him to die so badly! lol.

Graphicly speaking, it was "da shit" thumbs

Hehe, well... I LOVE both movies, but for different reasons...
LOTR:
GREAT FX
Good story
FANTASTIC landscapes
VERY VERY good character animation, and representation of people from middle earth, also acter's character-wise

Matrix trilogy:
EXTREME FX
AWESOME story
FANTASTIC concept
Very nice, with all the hidden messages
You see Trinity use an SSH exploit on the matrix ;)

No reason to say "But the other one suxx... Because I like this one better"
When it comes to it, the only, ONLY thing they have in common, is high budget, Hollywood movies...

Just my opinion... :D

lotr 1: was kinda boring.. the story was to slow and no action..
you can only wach this part if you saw 2 and 3 or read the book
they did a gread job with gollum ;) the shizo b u t t - m o n k e y :D

lotr 2: this was a really cool part :) i like the battle round helms deep :).. they did a really amazing job there :) with the hundrets of thousands of orks marching upto the walls... really amazing :) and i like tree beard and his mates ;)..

lotr 3: worthy end.. i like gollum being dead and the surrounding at the end of the movie ;).. only the collapsing of the tower sucks ass and is to fake..
and when mr frodo has to leave the best friend of my gf had to cry :D  i found it rather funny ;) yeah i am a freak ;)

i enjoyed all 3 parts :) they were really worthed the money i paid for seeing those films..

lotr 1: 3 times \ 2 times in cinema
lotr 2: 4 times \ 2 times in cinema
lotr 3: 1 time in cinema...

:)

Can't say I'm an avid Lotr fan, never read the books. Saw the first film forever awaiting for the climax that never happened, slow, predictable rather cheesey.

The second one had a some what decent lengthy battle scene, only worth flicking through with the remote though as far as a film goes.

I couldn't be bothered to see the third, but will undoubtly see it anyway when released on dvd.

Damn, you guys lost sight of film going expeience. Are u forgetting they're just supposed to be about having a good time and escape the crule reality for a few hours? :P

Oh and i cant say i read any LOTR books, but i had a mate explain the film every so often cos he has read it and to be honest it kinda cleared up a few knots.

Your friend should read the books properly, because the films contain another story :/ A friend of mine whom read all books and is a fan of LOTR says the books are way better then the film. I must agree with him, although I read each book only once (he readed them /= 4 times :?)
