The FriendSter been created in 2002 and what about FriendScene ?

Some further discussion topics for you to think about. I've used friendster, and it was written in JSP, was in BETA mode back when i was introduced to it by a friend. This was while we were still in developement on FS. As soon as FriendScene launches, the friendster site mysteriously switch to PHP and reprogram their entire backend? Then also happen to include some of FriendScene's ideas? Why would a site pay money to have their entire backend reprogrammed from one language to another after 2 years of being online?
Its only a matter of time before they also have Hot or Not, Personal Pages and Birthday Reminder (which now they got it done). But to be honest, thats what makes it interesting. We certainly learned from their strengths and weaknesses, its part of the job. We're proud of their achievements and respect them just as much as we respect all the other sites in our competition list. Afterall, competition makes everyone work harder which benefit nobody but the end user.
P.s. in my opinion, if i remember correctly, FriendFinder is the real winner... they have 26 million users, but they ruined their image by starting an adult version :?
Keep discussing this, it'll be interesting to read. As for me, i wont make further comments so you're free to speculate and take it as far as you wish so long as its within the rules.

ahaha, second day in a row you make me laugh very hard
ouch.
Well due to votes BioAlien is announced to be a riper.
And to tell you the truth Bio it is really looks so, cause the projects you launch are copys of really popular resources such as : GfxDiary=DeviantArt , FriendScene=Friendster(FriendFinder or whatever you choose) and i wont be suprised to see windows similliar OS from you in few years......
Slackware started developing software years after Microsoft started, is slackware a ripper? ;)
*grin @ thomas* :p
nice one :p
And Apple first started their OS and then sued Microsoft, so i guess yes it is riping.
Life is to search and develop new ideas, that what makes a good name..... if you just copy the idea, without doing major improvements you can be surely considered as RIPER's.
Life is full of those examples, you just need to turn around.
msn started with a butterfly on their logo, muji media has it too, is that ripping? ;)
I see you dont understand things... Butterfly is a insect, they have not been invented by people, while OS and Windows been created by certain group of people. Same thing here....
You're so damn cocky, there is no way anyone can have a normal discussion with you, lets hope you're smart enough to see why, clearly you're the one who does not understands "things".

ahaha, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
I can't wait to see the outcome of this.

I am in such m00d to discuss this, that i guess i will sacrifice my warning here.
Ok Mr. Thomas know it all, i am very sorry for you, that you have been cursed by influence of your team mate BioAlien and think you know everything in this world.
Maybe your friend will light up your mind and teach you some lessons of design. For a person who has his thoughts codded in tags you too often try to talk about creativity and means of design. Now you stroke my ears with the most stupid replic about butterfly.
Let me explain it all deeply for you my 1010101 friend :
1. If Muji Media would use the same Butterfly in it's logo as MSN has, it would be considered ripping.
2. If Muji Media would use the idea of MSN's Butterfly, which is : 4 objects form 2 wings of butterfly .
3. So here we came up to the main point : FriendScene's pic has the same idea in it, as FriendFinder or other websites do. Also your layout repeats layouts of websites, that been in the game longer then FS ( we have the same example in russian zone of internet, all friend making websites have absolutely the same view, just with different colours and logos ). You behave like stupid monkeys, who repeat after people.
The only fact that makes me feel better is that GD team finally removed their old logo and just uses "GfxDiary", thou the design is still lacks in some areas, i have to say you finally can say " we did good job" ...
Consider it a first step .

Care to point out websites that look like FS layout? If this is what we're discussing here?
According to what you're saying above about the idea of using photos of friends connected together to demonstrate how the site works.. it would also apply in the same way as using a butterfly for a company logo :? Listen to what you're saying.

Point out a "friends" website that offers blogging and a gallery system that rewards you for the amount of friends you have.
Based on how you view things, GfxDiary is just a design website. There are millions of them around. Why are you using it? Im sure this is not the first website that was ever invented to deal with GFX? Btw, the gfxdiary logo remains the official logo and it is used on parts of the site!
Life doesnt work like that. Its all about preference. If you can do something and people like it and use it, there is nothing stopping you. So long as you have the power to do it.
I would reinvent what Microsoft do, if i have the power. Just remake everything they did as an operating system, then once i reach the functionality they cover.. only then i can go further and try to beat them. To beat your competition you have to reach them, then worry about overtaking them. Do you understand?
This topic drifted out of context long enough. Why start a topic if you cant hold an intelectual discussion without resorting to name calling? The two images you've reported have no identical pixels so your RIP report is unfounded. If you like to report something please follow the How to Report guidelines:
