Interesting offer. But im afraid it will be like namezero.com - anybody remember their system? Get .COM, .NET, .ORG domains for free, in a year's time they take it off you and ask you to pay if you want to keep it. What a great way for a start up company to generate a lot of customers and get their business up and running. Dont u think?
Well, enjoy it while it lasts i guess, but .INFO domains arnt really worth much! ;)
meh, not much in life is free (without steeling ofc), atleast without any catches. I always think, WHY would they give away the "free" .info's if they wern't going to get anything out of it. Most cirtain a catch of some kind.
Free domains but not what we want - i agree .info kinda has some credibility, but lets face it, when u say "information sites" - thats not something many people want to set up. No business ventures, no interest. Its great for people desperate for a domain for their site (most probably hosted at a free host).
Ok let me outline my findings after doing some investigative work on DomainSite.com:
- Never states anywhere on the site who the OWNER of the domains you purchase. I'd like to be the administrative owner please so i know no 3rd party is running me
- You dont get DNS power, create your own name servers and power yourself.
- Never states on their site the COST of transfering YOUR domain to another company afterwards. Im thinking theres definatly "double figures" involved - when the price of buying a new one is "single figures" ;)
Thank you noxcel im very glad u posted this offer its very very useful. But for me i'll stay without the hassel and headaches - i already have little time to waste. I hope other people take advantage if they need a domain!
There is no catch, no transfer fees, you legally own them, yes you can transfer, renewal price is the standard renewal price (currently $7.77 / year). The only reason they are free is due to a special that Afilias is giving to registrars. These domain names will be the same as any other DomainSite domain name registration.
thanks for clearing the situation nox. RedD im full of projects - just little time to bring them to life... and no not with a .info domain for sure! :)
Seems like a big bullstuff but i am still in :D

funny, I see all these posts asking for free domains and now a company provides 25 free domains and people think it is a scam.
Bio, I think .info is perfect for information sites, second best after .com, so there is some value.
