GfxBot is too busy crawling the site, and blocking IPs which belong to SPAM bots and those GoogleBots when they gather as an army. It also protects GfxDiary against spam registerations and spam posting generated by other bots or machines.
Clever stuff eh? Just one of the many tricks up our sleeves. Theres yet more to come - in time :D
how do you do that? make an account.. and then? let him execute him a certain script?
unlimited loop, you dont let 'him' execute a script, IT is a script!
The bot has even more permissions then Bio and me, it crawls the site backend, (direct sql querys), not frontend ... so its quite fast.
I didnt even know you could have something run in the background over and over.
Unless A: Its a dedicated server and not web server and its not in php, or
B: they just created the script and ran it from the server and have it running over and over.
or
C: the bot scans the site when someone is on, soon as no one is on the site, it leaves a log where it left off, then resumes when someone else enteres the site.
No, GfxBot has been around for a long time. Who remembers the old GfxDiary when GfxBot was the tutorial reporter when new tuts get posted in the tut zone!
You can still find some of the automated reports in the Graphics Tutorials forum
So its easy to see what happened, GfxBot just got put into full time employment :)
