3D modeling procedures

i dont know how many 3dsmax users are here or whatever but I want to know how you model your scenes/ models, if I may.

Ever since I started using 3dsmax (R3), I've been box modeling but last year I started experimenting with Progressive Plane Modeling (yea yea, i came up with the title) and now i'm using that to do my scenes / models.

I just want to know what you guys use as a procedure, because I am seeing all over 3D sites tutorials using splines.

Frankly, I don't know how to use spline caging and surface modifiers yet, but i'm planning to progress into that field soon.

P.S.: BioAlien, I think your gonna shift this topic over to 3Dimentional but it's better here, cause it will make Epo's engine topic and my tank topic go down the list... I mean, it's upto you of course :wink: .

My 3D skills are awful but I can do smth. I voted for box modelling.

Starts with outlining with splines, then do the rest with boxmodelling... :D
