I was wondeirng if i should start jumping on the bandwagon and convert Biomutation into a php driven site - so visitors can start posting comments, voting, diss me on the shoutbox and all the other fun stuff that people want?
I'm not really sure if i want to. i wanted to keep it ANCIENT (HTML LOL) but keep the visuals technical and up to scratch. Good mix of retro and new skool.
Well, i'll let you guys decide...
noob, php is for loooosers. html all the way, you can still use some php BUT the main thing should be in html.
nox, we seem to be on the same wave length - but if u think about it, both of us wont be using html for long, my next version (BioV3) will be flash driven - i hope i can change my mind and stay with my beloved gif and jpeg techniques with a mix of some flash to satisfy my urges :roll:

I agree with Thomas you need a good backend system to make your life easier. But you must not over do it and create one BIG, bug ridden backend powered "mess"! :lol:
I personally dont know php to the level that i can use it in my everyday life to a comfortable level. but i'd love to know it so i can integrate and make my life sooo much easier. Everyday i have to do the GfxDiary and Biomutation site maintenace, check out the sites for the Web Award, and manually writing to them back and giving them feedback through my email. This is fun when its a few people a day but not when its TONNS - and most of them are porn, spam or illegal. Same goes for GfxRing! Now if i had an effecient backend system i could do all this with one click of a mouse. Literally 5 mins a day spent on that not a few hours. Then i can dedicate more time to do some REAL work on the site and keep it running smooth and work on the MAGAZINE!

I have no idea when the next version of Biomutation will take place. This is the first time i havnt stuck with my tradition of wipping a new design every year :oops:
But it is php driven at the moment so i guess there is progress made since i opened this topic!
