Photoshop CS video tutorial: Histogram & H/S Control

CS: Using Histogram and Shadow/Highlight

This tutorial will teach you how to revive this extremely under-exposed image using Photoshop CS's two new features - Histogram and Highlight and Shadow adjustment. This is the first in the series of Lombergar.com tutorials that teach you the new features of Photoshop CS.

These tutorials are completely, absolutely and 100% free of charge. The only thing I ask of you is to leave me some friendly feedback. Tell me what should be changed in the tutorials, what should be added, removed, which tutorials would you like to see. I will do my best to comply :D

The tutorial looked easy enough to follow. Isn't the 'histogram' the same as using 'levels' in every other version of Photoshop ?

Only thing I didn't like was that annoying static sound effect that kept looping at the start whilst the video was still streaming...

Not really - the levels command shows you a histogram, but the histogram is a separate toolbar now in cs ... and very much improved I must say (it's accessible in older versions in image/histogram)

Hehe, well, that's my new intro ... maybe the sound will be changed if enought ppl will not like the sound effect.

Sounds like a welcomed feature then. Umm, well the day I can afford to buy the latest version of Photoshop... with a Sainsbury's salary; not very soon. I heard the workflow became more efficient from revamp in CS.

Lombi, i did wanna see the tutorial but unfortunatly, since the reformat i didnt install QuickTime plugin, and to be honest im not too keen on installing it either. It messes up IE's page refresh and takes over all downloaded multimedia content. So my problem could be turned into a suggestion:
Why not have a Flash version of the tuts? Its more common, widly supported and more recognised!

Trico you can always use the 30 trial to get an understanding of how much Adobe has been busy milking the Photoshop brand - and reuse the trial when it expires if you dont want to go the "illegal" route.

Well, alien, take a peek at "Quicktime Alternative" then. It's great and free.

Nice tut, but whats up with your avatar? It makes me sick, can you please change it to something more static.

hehehe noxcel, your avatar is just green, it makes me sick too! Can you please change it? :P

hehe :P
We are the GFXdiary, you must comply, resistance is futile. We will assimilate your tutorials and use them to improve our selves.
