NEW FLASH TUTORIAL ON SITE

I have put a new flash tutorial on my site, it is how to make buttons. I am starting out with the easy stuff people can get the basics dow.

a direct link to the tutorial would be nice. or even display it here for people to see.

Sorry about that.

Here is the link

I think windows media player 9 is required to play it. It is a wmv.

I'm pretty much a newb to flash, but I tried this for the hell of it. Its easy enough to follow and I might actualy have learned something.

On a side note I didn't like the sound that imitated eating a toffee, over the audio; became annoying... but it works so I can't really complain.

hey that is my voice so shh lol

Hey i have braces so give me a little slack. But hey you learned something from the tutorials so that is good.

oh, heh... sorry.

nice a video tut, you should download Camtasia Studio, it also has swf export support 8), wich will be faster to load, and better graphics ...

I did use Camtasia Studio, so you are saying i should export as a SWF

yeah it would be a improvement :), did some tut with some swf-castasia file. Loaded it a mere of seconds and had a good quality.
You should just give it a try, if you dont like it you can keep using normal video files...

Nice tutorial, i agree with dabluedude, SWF is more compatible with people around the world, who may/maynot have Windows Media Player

... and may not have a updated flashplayer ;)
the most important reason for me is that itll be integrated into your site instead of a "popup" media player.

yeah i already did it

The good things include being able to see it in a fully expandable window, an' yes more people will probably be able to access it.

However I fail to see the point having seen the .swf version; it took atleast 3-5 times longer to load than before and there is no noticeable difference in quality. I almost gave up waiting for it to load, even though the preloader is supposed to eliminate any doubt in this sense.

Could it be made to show the load time in a percentage ?

Yes, i can do that. I don't know about the load time but i can show the percentage

I'm guessing load times were affected by server/isp so you can ignore that part.

well i can't do it through camatasia and i tried to do it but i don't know the var for it Oh well. But i am going to have all my tutorials be that way. Did you like how the tutorial was? Besides the voice, lol.
