I was panning to print some of my photos out as an xmas pressie for one or two people. I haven't decided yet which ones I'm going to use, but i was wondering what other people thought about the genera idea (framing etc)
Yeah, I wasn't convinced with the second one either... what do you think is the main thing that let's it down? The font and icon I used in the frame or the general composition of the photo?
The photos look great - the second one doesn't seem as interesting as the others though. The purple blotch and choice of typeface seem off putting. + the 'G' looks more like a 'C' ?
On the last 3 shots I'm not keen on the thin border that appears beveled; single looked fine.
I think the composition of second picture isnt so bad at all, but so many obejcts in one composition. A building, a statue or monument , well whatever and some ppl. Good shot for photo album, but not for Xmas card.
1'st and 3'rd best.
Cheers for all the advice people! I see where you two are comming from RedDragon and dabluedude, the second shot maybe is a little too busy...
Trico, I understand where you are comming from with your comments about the text in the second image, I'll probably change that... The purple blotch is actually the 'eye' image you see on my avatar - just you can't really make it out there because of how heavily I resized the image... It makes the frame look a bit messy too though i think so I'll probably get rid of that too...
It's funny though, I quite like the border for the last 3 - guess that just comes down to personal preferance. I'll fiddle with the size and see how it looks with a much thicked border...
hehe, true, but its for my relatives and as a present as opposed to something on a card, so I'm guessing they would appreciate it... Besides, snow is getting rare even up here in scotland these days... At least in Glasgow these days...
Oh how I miss the snow... :P
Thanks for the comments though, I do realise that these pictures don't really bring out the christmas spirit or anything...
Yeah, it doesn't snow in much of Scotland these days, if you go far enough north though you still can catch the snow... Well when I was a wee lad we used to be snowed under with snow probably piled higher than me back then...
Aaahhhh... Those were the days...
And aye... that is a nice avatar you have there dabluedude :D.
i like the fourth one a lot! :D
the first macro shot it ok as well, the 3rd one is good but the block at the left blocks out too much of the picture. the second i think is the viewpoint that makes it not as interesting.
looks GREAT :)
All good exept the second one.

perhaps there are too many different colors?
nice, i like them all

Everything else is cool in my eyes.

I agree with the red evil russian dragon, its not bad just to detailed
Glad to see the progression to using borders and picture frames in your work now :D
yeah bio, I like it too, it adds some proffesinallism to it (dont know how to spell it though :?)

Both.
But mainly the old one...
hehe, thanks, took the new one cuz of its more proffesional looking.
That is does... Still think you should change back to the old one tho.... ;).
ANYWAYS, better get back to the topic at hand...
yeah indeed, somehow I always get off-topic :P
