i'm currently learning Visual C++ at uni and making my very own Space Invaders game (its part of my assignment). So once i unlock the power of VC++ i'll be able to help you out, although i have a creative brain which is not meant for programming, i doubt i'll ever be good at programming :(
your entire engine gonna be based off loading objects or they gonna be able to move around in the free world and place regular 2d tiles byself?
