Hello and welcome to GfxForum :)

I think you are confused, so let me break it down to you. The headers found for the noxcel header contest is submitted by other artists/designers. They're mostly done in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, whichever one tickles your fancies.

Some of them are possibly done using some renders generated with 3D Studio Max then touched up in Photoshop etc. Either way, i suggest you start with basic graphics applications and work your way up to 3D Studio Max or Macromedia Flash.

THANK you for writting BioALIEN!

You have right! But the only thing i want to know is which is the best program for 3ds on web. I have seen many spectacular 3ds with flash and although i know GOOD flash and actionscript they are seems to me very difficult! SO i want to find a few tutorials with 3ds , ..nice backgrounds and this quick lightings.

I suggest you look into Swift 3D since u said you're good with flash.
http://www.swift3d.com

On their website they also have links to tutorials, documentation and other resources...

Most of the graphics is done in flash. Some people use 3d programs like 3dsmax do add "wow" elements to their work. Swift 3D is just a tool to put your 3d creations on the web. I think the best thing for you would be is to learn some 3d program and photoshop and then use Swift 3D or other programs to transform your creations into websites. You can find useful tuts for photoshop and flash at:

note: 3d section is coming soon.

and here is cool background tutorial for you:

Have fun...

But How do you achieve this 3d space backgrounds effects in your headers? for instance do you import 3d into photoshop or vice versa or what else?
One last question, do you use just a 3d max application or swift 3d to complete your work?
(for example 3046 template i saw a background like 3d seems like created to photoshop, and a 3d computer wich seems difficult and heavy to created in swift 3d)

here, download some of these renders and play around in photoshop:
