trying out my wacom

The 2nd sketch is very good. I've only seen the first sketch from our conversation a while earlier. Well done, all I can say is you deserve to have the wacom tablet unlike the many who purchase it to try to "learn" graphics ;)

What Wacom you got? Nice sketches, I like the eyes on the first. Though how bout some tone!

6x8 intuos 3

I think that is the same as mine. I have A5 Intuos3.

haha woot wacom buddies

killer bunny contest:

I really like this one, if it wasnt for those shadows on the feet I wouldnt have guessed this was done on a tablet :)

Are you going to be adding colour to this piece?

fixed the rabbit:

and heres a pimp hoplite for another contest:

the contest was actually about roman legionnaires but i submitted a greek hoplite cose they own the shit out of the romans, plus they look way cooler.

nah not much color, im just concentrating on bulk sketching, fillin up the portfolio little by little, i might color later

Whats 'fixed' about the rabbit?...looks the same to me.

face: line weight and eyes

rifle: muzzle

Oh yeah, I see now. :)

I never use mine for line. I'd prefer to do that with a real pencil/pen then high res scan - loads more control I think. For me, I find the tablet comes in handy for tone -- rendering (semi-transparent brush). Although on the whole I'm a far more 'tonal' than 'line' guy anyway.

Nice work, but it'd be nice to see one actually 'coloured'.

Nice work Sith, I like that last piece a lot. Some lines still need to be cleaned and "rasterized".

I've been doing cleanup on 3000 frames of animation sketches, for 3 new tv commercials. There are 6 artists working nonstop drawing and I get the highres scan copies - which i have to clean up and prepare for animation (post production).

First time i use a wacom - i tried it a little, then i got too annoyed, its not easy to control the cursor unlike the mouse. So I ended up using the wacom as a mouse pad instead.

Have any of you felt like this too? Does it take time to get used to a wacom?

Yes definitely!
