I've been busy sketching out different concepts for a logo I am working on. Its done in CorelDraw for now, but once I reach a final idea I'll either take it to Photoshop or recreate the whole symbol in 3D.
What do you think? Which logo concept do you think works best? I've mainly played with the "i" and "S" lettering.
Perhaps you could explain a little more about what iScene interactive is about. It would be easier to choose which logo is best suited then. But, not knowing anything about it, I like #7.
You're the 2nd person who went for number 7. iScene interactive is a web development studio. So it needs to have a corporate identity to reflect its new media image. Young and vibrant, yet corporate and serious.
The idea I concentrated on the most was 10, as it looks like a smilie face (wink or neutral face). But i am still open to ideas or anything to generate inspiration :)
#9 really reminds me of something.
How about the nice wavey 'S' (I just used a normal 'S') with some perspective. Kinda developing #6 some:
#9 does indeed remind me of something too, either the :? smile with one eye missing or maybe something else.
Btw, i've added two new concepts 11 & 12. I think 12 is the most promising of them all for now. What do you think?
UPDATE: Does it look like the Sony Vaio logo?
Yeah I thought of Vaio when I first saw 9.
I think 12 is alright. But its not there yet. Too symmetrical or something, i don't know. Just not that really contemporary stylish look that i think #7 had.
A close friend informed me logo 12 looks like Sports Interactive's logo, so after searching around i found this:
With logo 12 i wanted to have the logo spin clockwise - similar to the way Biomutation logo is spinning. Thats the reason for having it symetrical!
What do you think?
Sony's logos are v.nice:
Hmm, well tbh #12 doesn't look too much like that sports logo. You'll always find that something looks similar to a logo you design - Unless of course its very complex one. But there is so many times I'm really happy with a logo, then suddenly I have a feeling that it looks like something or you come across something really similar when surfing the web one day. Its annoying, but cant be helped.
Ehm ehm ehm... really don't know there D...
But the wave with the dot is an old egyptian symbol afaik...
I don't like the ones with hard edges, takes away the flow, and makes it look too mechanical...
Also it seams like you're over-doing some of them.
The $ one really doesn't work... too much greed in it ;)
But damn... I have NO idea... Just go for something soft, simple, and cheerful :)
ELF, it would be nice if you can at least indicate which concept/style you like from the above?
But I guess you have a point there, because many arabic alphabets are similar in nature:
notice the "t" and the "h" - the above symbols dont illustrate my point with this typeface, there are other arabic typefaces which are more angled and less curvey!
Nah, I still think there is somewhere else I have seen #9, more similar to it than the VAIO logo. Just cant think of it.
It's in the back of my mind...Maybe something electrical product, I'm thinking microwave, dishwasher fridges, or freezers.
i know what your talking about xeo but i cant place it as well, its very familiar though
When i look at it, it reminds me of the yin yang symbol in a way!
Update: I've added two new logo concepts, as well as began choosing a suitable typeface. I may have to create my own typeface to go with the logo. What do you think of logo 14? It looks like an "eye" and still follow the constructs "i" "S" "i"
Feedback is welcomed!
#14 pwns all. :P
Encountered the worst luck so far. CorelDraw trial expired on me when I need it most. Installed Illustrator CS2 trial instead and now continuing where I left off. Had to redo lots of the concepts which set me back many hours.
What do you think of the final versions: A, B, C, D?
Although I like B and D deep down my instincts are telling me to go with C
Well, honestly, I don't like any particularly. I think a more simple, minimal, typeface would look good. Then if feel it will give more attention to your nice little ideogram. Atm, imo, they are both (the ideogram and they text) shrieking "look at me!" - I suggest; Decker, Helvetica neue, etc.
If I HAD to choose out of A, B, C, D though; i'd go with C.
...?
I like the C,D, but im not really sure if this is the ideal logo for iscene, people could be memorizing the logo and think the actual name is "scene" not "iscene".

Yeah, agree. I thought that too.
That has crossed my mind. Thanks for the feedback, i'll see if i can move the symbol from within the name and use it as just an identifier!

VAIO upside down looks a LOT like it
Nah, there is something way more similar, I know it.
I think it looks more like the ying yang logo. Either way, its just a sin curve, Sony didnt invent that! The dot naturally came from the "i" letter. But yeah, moving on from this talk.. i'd like to present the final version of the logo:
Looks nice. Good job. Personally, I prefer the left, with the smaller ideogram - looks more...balanced imo.
This is the final version of the logo in BW colours, plain and simple. It looks nicer in colour - but thats another story. Just wait for the website and you'll know what im talking about
