The New Design of Longhorn

Paul Thurrott also known as a creator of existing Longhorn outlook, few days ago revealed a new design of this OS.

In new OS will be the target of M$ new slogan " TOTAL protection" as you can see on the pic, for a guest user to install any programm he will have to enter the administrator password.

InstantOn function allows a user to authorise himself in 2 seconds, while the time for turning on the Longhorn from off PC will take 50% less than the time required for launching XP.

Developers added a new function for working with portable devices. It is a SyncManager tool.

As you can see on screenhots the interface changed and we know something about system requirements : 1GB of RAM ! be prepared to upgrade your PC before 2006 :)

I think Microsoft is being realistic. RAM is very cheap nowadays, and they want to force their members to upgrade and prepare for the future. Its time to ditch the Win95 computers and step into the next gen era.

From what I read about this new operating system, MS will be aiming to capitalise on digital contents and multimedia. From the BETA I installed last year, it was great a HUGE step forward. Microsoft will surely try to strengthen its reputation regarding security to make sure Linux stays at the bottom.
