As I mentioned a few posts ago I havnt upgraded my PC since 2001. My brother built a powerful computer for me over the summer AMD 64bit huge powerful beast and I turned it down in favour of sticking with my ultra small compaq desktop pc. P4 1.7 GHz
All i've done to it is topped up the ram which a friend of mine offered so now i have 768MB RAM.
This thing is so tiny that I always have it open on the floor and the CD-Rom unplugged and my work (backup) 200gig Hdisk connected instead. So I basically hardly ever use CDs maybe once every 3 months.
Now that im planning to travel in the summer and work abroad I've had to reconsider my plans. I'll end up ditching this great machine which powered me all these years and achieved so much with it (well worth the money I paid). I'll be getting a laptop and just carry my 200gig disk with me wherever I go.
There is two things that im after, a laptop and a 1gig flash memory. My thinking is that wouldnt it be great to have FS, GfxDiary and other critical projects secure and saved in a flash device worn around my neck? :twisted:
What about you guys? Where are you in terms of upgrades and keeping up with developments?
ATM i got 2 laptops and 1 desktop.
Laptop 1 - IruStilo 1514 = Transmetta 5800, 256 mb, 40 gb, integrated graphics 32mb. (Extra Slim and light, mostly used in the car)
Laptop 2 - Samsung P28 = Celeron M 340 1.5 GHZ, 256 mb, 40 gb, Ati Mobility Radeon 9000 64 mb. ( bought it cause when we were selling 10 of them to one firm, one got left, so i decided to leave it, but errmmm it still lies in the box lol )
Desktop - RedD's Edittion ;) = Athlon Xp 2000+, 512 mb, 80 gb, Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128mb with new mouse !!! hehehe ( the machine i use the most, really comfortable and used to it. I )
Whats is in my plans, when i have time to take care of mine equipment is :
2 x Laptop - Acer Ferrari 3400 (already shipping to me)
